July 2006 Dr. Sian Lawson presents and chairs three sessions at the World Congress of Biomechanics, Munich, Germany.

June 2006 Equine Mechanics announce collaboration with Stepney Banks Charitable Trust giving them use of a £2 million pound indoor school and studio and 25 horses.

March 2006 Dr. Sian Lawson gives an invited talk at the Havameyer Symposium on Equine Locomotion, Costa Rica.

March 2006 Dr. Sian Lawson speaks at the Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering conference, Antibes, France.

December 2005 Dr. Sian Lawson awarded grant to work on animal welfare by the National Centre for the three Rs (refinement, reduction and replacement of the use of animals), in conjunction with Newcastle University.

September 2005 Dr. Sian Lawson presents at the French Societe Biomecanique Conference, Brussels, Belgium.

August 2005 Dr. Sian Lawson takes up Lectureship in Bioengineering at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

May 2005 Dr. Sian Lawson chosen by The Extraordinary Women Engineers Project for an extended profile in their flagship publication - Women Engineers: Extraordinary Stories Of How They Changed Our World. Dr. Lawson was chosen for her work on horse mocap and biomechanics in the entertainment industry.

24th February 2005 The International Fund for Horses offers support to Equine Mechanics' plans to create simulation model to replace the use of live horses in dangerous stunts. Equine Mechanics opposes the cruel use of animals in the film industry and believes that computer generated image technology can provide a viable alternative to putting horses in dangerous or otherwise stressful situations. 9th December 2004 Ben Lawson interviewed on the use of horses in ancient warfare for "Alexander the Great" documentary. Teenage Alexander and his horse Bucephalus were provided by Equine Mechanics.

December 2004 Dr. Siân Lawson is featured as speaker of the month on Performing Artistes Online and profiled in Science's Next Wave.

September 2004 Dr. Siân Lawson is awarded a visiting research fellowship at Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort, France, to work with one of the world’s leading equine research groups. Dr. Lawson will also be continuing her consultancy work during this period.

July 2004 Equine Mechanics completes work on Alexander (2004, Oliver Stone) and Kingdom of Heaven (2005, Ridley Scott). Equine Mechanics was involved in the casting, motion capturing, modelling and retargeting of the equine motion for these projects.
